SICILY, Messana (as Zankle). Circa 500-493 BC. AR Hemilitron (7mm, 0.25 g). Dolphin left within sickle-shaped harbor / Nine-part incuse square with scallop shell in center. Cf. Gielow 81 (hexas); cf. HGC 2, 768 (litra) and 769 (hexas). Dark find patina. Near EF. Very rare as a hemillitra.
